Nabbed in New Zealand coverBLURB:

Taking a break from her job at an art gallery in Charleston, South Carolina, Valla Denier escapes on a week-long camping tour of New Zealand with a small group of companions and two skilled guides. Valla is enchanted by the wild beauty of the South Island and Kaikoura Beach, as well as the local men. After catching the eye of a rugged, drop-dead-gorgeous man in a café, she is shocked to run into him later that evening at a karaoke bar. Setting her shyness aside, she serenades the stranger with a seductive tune. She never imagines the lyrics would be taken literally.

Later that evening, Valla is taken from her campsite and wakes up in a strange room. Her captor is the man from the bar, Brocan Judge, a six foot five wall of muscle with piercing, cobalt blue eyes. He is not responsible for her abduction; his friend has delivered Valla as a gift, and repairing the situation is not as simple as it sounds.

Valla soon learns that Judge is a Dom, intent on punishing her for her willful ways. Even more surprising is Valla’s reaction to him. When he offers her the choice to stay or leave, she must decide how far down the submissive path she is willing to travel. But trust has never been Valla’s strong suit. Will she be able to set aside her inhibitions and give in to the strong hand she has secretly craved, or will doubt trump her growing desire?

MY REVIEW:

I’ve read another Christine Edwards book before, Naughty in Norway, and anticipated liking this one just as much.  Thankfully, I was right.  She knows how to do fast-paced erotic kidnapping stories and even better, she sets them in places I’ve never visited.  It is clear that she takes the extra time to research her story locations so that the reader really feels they are there.

This one starts with a heroine traveling with a tour group through New Zealand when she is kidnapped by a hunky man she’d led on at a bar that night.  She’d left him after an intense encounter and it’s pretty clear neither was really ready to let things go.  The problem?  He kidnapped her!  Actually, it’s more complicated than that, but you’d have to read the story to find out the real details of what happened.  There are a few twists in this story that I didn’t expect.

I must say the sex scenes in this novel are hot!  Expect some BDSM elements, but despite the kidnapping Valla is very much a willing participant.  It should be understood that this is fantasy erotica and not meant to reflect a real life situation.  If you get hung up on that, this kind of story might not work for you.  I knew that going into it.  The only thing I would have preferred is a little more resistance from her in the beginning.  That’s my favorite part…the fight!  She gives in rather quickly and just has brief moments of doubt.  Ironically, those usually turn into a disaster for both her and Judge.

Despite that, there is something hot about being holed up with a sexy man in the mountains of New Zealand.  Valla and Judge have great chemistry.  I enjoyed all the scenes with them and wished there could have been more!  Never doubt that the location and situation they are in is used to the best advantage.  It helped make for an exciting story and there was definite suspense to keep the reader wondering what will happen next.  There are some side characters I would have liked to see more of toward the end.  I was kind of sad they weren’t more involved because I think it would have strengthened the story overall, but other than that I was very satisfied.

Christine Edwards knows how to write steamy erotica and she doesn’t disappoint!  I definitely recommend her books to those who enjoy the genre.  Four whips for Nabbed in New Zealand!

Note- I received a free ecopy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
